Job Description
Overview:
Responsibilities of the RN House Supervisor include working alongside directors and administration to oversee hospital operations and maintain compliance with health system policies and regulatory standards. This position involves coordinating the delivery of top-notch patient care and taking on leadership duties during weekends and off-peak hours to manage patient issues and ensure smooth hospital operations and adequate staffing.
Responsibilities:
- Works with department heads to synchronize nursing services with patient demand and clinical requirements. Assesses the staffing levels and available resources to optimize the deployment of staff according to their competencies and tenure.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to decide on the appropriate placement for patients.
- Partners with departmental charge nurses, healthcare providers, and other departments to enhance the efficiency of patient progression.
- Supporting the process of patient triage and admission prioritization to help streamline the flow of patients as required.
- Reacts to campus emergency signals, executes assigned tasks, and supports patient transfers as needed.
- Engages with team members, individuals in care, and advocates for patients to navigate ethical challenges, implementation of new practices, and procedures for escalating issues within the organizational structure.
- Offers consulting services to hospital employees, physicians, and outside groups regarding operational issues.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Preferred: Master?s degree in nursing or similar field
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 or more years as a Registered Nurse required.
Preferred: Acute care setting. Previous leadership and/or critical care experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
RN- Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or Compact state.
BLS
ACLS (Not applicable for the Behavioral Health Service Line)
Notary public certification in the State of North Carolina (must be completed within six months of hire)
