Overview:
The Cardiac Sonographer Registered Inpatient II position involves conducting cardiac ultrasound procedures with guidance from a department supervisor. Through this role, top-notch customer service is delivered by emphasizing patient safety, preferences, and efficient communication. Collaborating with patients, families, coworkers, and external stakeholders is key to delivering precise cardiac diagnostics, patient-centered care, and favorable results.
Responsibilities:
- Carries out routine and unique assessments according to set protocols to ensure optimal diagnostic precision.
- Reviews and interprets test findings, articulating them accurately to collaborating cardiologists to assist in precise diagnosis and treatment mapping and maintain a harmonious relationship between the sonographer and cardiologists.
- Manages the functioning, diagnoses problems, and arranges maintenance for all assessment devices to secure precise and dependable test outcomes, prioritize patient safety, and enhance workflow effectiveness.
- Upholds professional standards and CPR certification to align with industry regulations and be ready to address any cardiac emergencies.
- Executes the administration of image-enhancing substance as per the physician's instructions for echocardiogram quality improvement.
- The departmental career advancement criteria mandate the successful execution of four complex tasks.
- Completes any other duties as reasonably mandated or given.
- Undertakes any other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:Required: 3 years minimum
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular credentialing International (CCI); BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider. Meets 4 of the Career Ladder requirements as outlined by departmental career ladder.
