Operating under the direction of the Provider, the Medical Assistant Certified contributes to collaborative patient care efforts by following standard care protocols tailored to the individual patient's age, needs, and health condition. With careful oversight, this position aids the nursing, laboratory, administrative, and Physician teams to enhance patient outcomes and ensure quality care delivery.

Engaging as a team member, the Certified Medical Assistant aids in delivering patient-centered care in accordance with the Physician's directives. They play a supportive role for nursing, laboratory, administrative, and Physician teams to enable favorable patient results. Their clinical proficiency spans across diverse age groups ranging from infants to seniors, encompassing newborns, toddlers, adolescents, grown-ups, and the elderly. Basic requirements include active involvement in a Clinical Orientation and Competency Evaluation, as well as demonstrating competency in Clinical Skills and Medication Administration tests within the initial ninety days of being hired, with a limit of three attempts.
In the course of patient consultations, the medical assistant adheres to established protocols and pre-set orders based on the patient's symptoms or purpose of the visit, as well as recording and implementing verbal instructions received from the healthcare provider. Furthermore, they may be tasked with administering authorized medications via oral or parenteral routes, excluding IV medications, in line with prescribed procedures and standards. Maintaining accurate records of drug administrations and obtaining prior authorizations for medications when necessary are also part of the job requirements.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent, Required Diploma/Certificate in Medical Assistant Program, Preferred
EXPERIENCE:
2 years Healthcare - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Preferred Physician Office Experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED:
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider REQUIRED: Current and active certification as a medical assistant by one of the following: American Allied Health (AAH), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Health career Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA).
