Job Description

Overview:

The Mobile Integrated Health Community Paramedic (MIH/CP) plays a crucial role in advancing healthcare delivery through offering timely and appropriate care in suitable settings. This specialized clinician is capable of conducting medical assessments, interventions, and stabilization with supervision from medical professionals. The MIH/CP responds to scheduled and immediate medical requests from the Hospital at Home team, following guidance from the team's healthcare provider. This position necessitates autonomy in performing various procedures like starting IV lines, drawing blood, and administering medications while being monitored. In promoting consistent care, the MIH/CP collaborates with patients' primary caregivers and other healthcare personnel.

Responsibilities:

Carries out medical interventions and therapies that fall within the authorized range of duties, following established guidelines, utilizing the resources at hand, and considering the specific conditions of the patient in the context of the Hospital at Home approach.

Medications are evaluated and dispensed according to the prescribed instructions.

Arrange the necessary Remote Patient Monitoring devices as required.

Demonstrates effective management of HaH resources and adeptly allocates time.

Upholds the privacy of patient, staff, and institutional data.

Displays proficiency in using departmental and organizational information systems, as well as supplies and resources associated with patient care.

Takes on the responsibility of ongoing education to stay updated on current information, actively pursuing and retaining knowledge concerning various illnesses and medications relevant to Hospital at Home patients.

The capacity to analyze and adjust patient assignments according to their acuteness and the requirements of the unit is essential.

Regularly communicates and upholds professional conduct in both spoken and written communication with patients, families, and colleagues. Executes additional job responsibilities as delegated according to the requirements of the Hospital at Home division.

Required:

  • High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a 911, community paramedicine or acute healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical/procedural skills required.
  • Must be deemed competent by Health at Home Medical Director and the Cone Health MIH/CP onboarding and release to practice standard

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED

Required:

Active North Carolina State Paramedic certification

Must obtain CPC (certified community paramedic) certification within 18 months of hire

BLS (CPR-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

ACLS - American Red Cross or Healthcare Provider

Valid driver's license and clean driving record
