Job Description
Operating within set guidelines, the CT Technologist is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care during CT scans. Employing specialized x-ray equipment, this role generates detailed cross-sectional images to assist radiologists in diagnosing a wide array of medical conditions.
Essential Job Function
- Utilizes x-ray scanners to create computer-generated cross-sectional images for the head or body, commonly referred to as CAT scans.
- Administers typical and specific CT exams in accordance with standardized protocols to reduce the need for extra imaging and regulate radiation exposure levels, while also maintaining exam productivity within stipulated benchmarks.
- Completes all examinations and paperwork in Computerized Health Information (CHI) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) with precision, properly identifying all charges for studies and rectifying any inaccuracies to ensure a seamless process.
- By informing and readying patients for their examinations, healthcare professionals seek to boost patient comprehension and compliance with testing procedures, creating a more positive patient journey.
- Exhibits a firm dedication to maintaining safe practices, embracing a Just Culture, and following ALARA principles to reduce errors and optimize patient outcomes.
- Completes additional duties as instructed.
Education
- Required:High School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
Experience
Open to students and extensive experienced CT TechnologistLicensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Will accept any of the licenses:ARRT: RT(R)(CT) RT(N)(CT)NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT)Combination of ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) or CNMT and ARRT(CT) Combination of ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT) or ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT)BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
