Overview:
The Clinical Psychologist at Cone Health's Family Medicine Residency Program will deliver educational services to residents. This will involve managing the curriculum, providing group and individual teaching sessions for the residents. The Psychologist will collaborate with the residents, conducting patient evaluations and offering diagnoses to individuals facing mental health issues. The primary emphasis of the psychologist's work is on educating residents about behavioral health conditions frequently encountered in a Family Medicine setting. In this supervised capacity, the psychologist administers psychological interventions such as counseling and evidence-based therapies to help patients regain their optimal level of functioning.
Responsibilities:
Facilitates the execution of in-depth psychological evaluations, encompassing interviews, psychological assessments, and diagnostic appraisals, to grasp the emotional and mental health requirements of individuals.
Provides support in identifying and creating treatment strategies for individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and emotional disorders.
Assists in offering interventions based on research findings to support clients in managing psychological and emotional difficulties, including methods like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), talk therapy, and guidance.
Works together with a variety of professionals from different fields such as psychiatry, social work, and nursing to guarantee cohesive care and treatment strategies.
Keeps precise and confidential patient records, recording evaluation results, therapy strategies, and updates.
Provides information to patients and their families regarding mental health disorders, methods for dealing with them, and practices for self-care.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
