Job Description
In an Ambulatory Retail Specialty Clinic, the Pharmacist II plays a key role in ensuring that patients receive the medications they need to manage their health conditions outside of a hospital setting. This involves not only dispensing medications but also offering valuable information to patients regarding their prescribed drugs, monitoring pharmacy support staff, and working closely with a supervising pharmacist.
Essential Job Function:
- Comprehends and adheres to medical practitioner guidance to provide accurate treatment to the specified patient.
- Manages and validates the processing of prescription requests, packaging, and delivery.
- Supplies and tracks drug usage and medication-linked data for healthcare professionals, patients, and the community.
- Supports the monitoring and appraisal of pharmacy technicians, offering supplementary clinical support to enhance patient care.
- Carries out other responsibilities as designated.
Education:
- Required: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor's of Pharmacy.
Experience:
- Required: 3 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Pharmacist in NC within 60 days of hire BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
