Job Description
As a Registered Nurse (RN), the main task is to deliver excellent patient care and secure positive patient outcomes by effectively applying nursing knowledge with compassion and skill. Under general supervision, this role contributes to the advancement of professional nursing practices by organizing patient care through the nursing process and cooperation with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Job Function
- Reviews patient needs and conditions in the assigned unit to deliver appropriate and individualized nursing care necessary for each patient.
- Assesses patient records, including medical history, diagnostic outcomes, and current status, to create personalized nursing care plans.
- Develops nursing techniques that include medication administration and therapies to deliver comprehensive and successful patient care.
- Compares medical records to ensure they are precise and adhere to both regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Analyzes patient reactions to interventions and recognizes any further actions necessary to reach predetermined care objectives.
- Utilizes teamwork with a range of professionals to enhance care planning outcomes.
- Performs supplementary tasks as assigned.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse
- Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
