Job Description
The Clinical Practice Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) provides exceptional care and support across various clinical settings. Working under minimal supervision, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality specialty patient care and supports the strategic success of healthcare initiatives for that service line. Specialty Care is office based only and includes the following: Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and Endocrinology as well as Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN only, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, APPs in Community Care Clinic, Wound Care and Patient Care Clinic settings.
Essential Job Function:
- Reviews patient conditions and necessities within assigned clinical placements to administer nursing care in a manner that ensures all patients receive the specific and adequate attention they require.
- Evaluates patient information, encompassing past medical records, diagnostic exam results, and current well-being, to establish tailored nursing care plans.
- Nurses are responsible for executing nursing processes, including medication distribution, maintenance of vascular devices, and facilitation of treatments to offer holistic patient care.
- Provides medications and treatments, follows set protocols and guidelines to safely manage hazardous and non-hazardous medications, promoting the safety of patients and staff members.
- Verifies medical files to maintain accuracy and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
- Reviews patient feedback on interventions and recognizes any supplementary interventions necessary to reach specified care goals.
- Cooperates with an interdisciplinary group to ensure comprehensive care plans are in place.
- Plays a critical role as a proficient mentor and educator, delivering direction, knowledge, and backing to fellow workers and team members to enhance a climate of continual growth.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
- Preferred: Certification in Specialty eligible within 1 year of hire.
