Job Description

Overview:

The primary responsibility of this job is to assist the pharmacy department in delivering quality patient care in a designated location while working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support in orienting and training new employees or students.
  • Ensures seamless workflow by overseeing stock levels and answering phone inquiries as a priority.
  • The system's operation is responsible for the administration of pharmacy automation technology.
  • Performs medication preparation, allocation, and disposal while adhering to contemporary best practices, while being supervised by a licensed Pharmacist.
  • Monitoring a person's pharmaceutical intake history.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

Pharmacy technician diploma or enrolled in a pharmacy technician program

EXPERIENCE:

Pharmacy technician experience is preferred and hospital pharmacy technician experience is highly preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

REQUIRED:

  • Pharmacy technician candidates must be certified by either PTCB or NHA
  • You must complete registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy no later than thirty days after starting your new job
