Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician II Certified Acute Care operates with oversight from a licensed pharmacist and undertakes diverse responsibilities, such as aseptic compounding tasks essential for preparing IV compounding prescriptions. They also handle tasks like documenting medication histories and managing the dispensation and delivery of both controlled and non-controlled medications to ensure high-quality and secure patient care.
Responsibilities:
Carries out a range of duties such as mixing both dangerous and non-dangerous intravenous medications, checking for precision, and handling the reception, preparation, distribution, and proper disposal of drugs following present regulations, all while being closely monitored by a licensed pharmacist.
Uses digital medical databases to access necessary information for supporting pharmacy tasks.
Utilizes pharmacy systems technology and automation to aid in the preparation of medications.
Carries out tasks related to medication regulation and ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
Demonstrates proficient communication with fellow healthcare providers and ensures top-notch customer service delivery.
Acts as a guide for new staff members during their onboarding process.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
