Job Description
Overview:
The Clinic's Behavioral Health Therapist plays a crucial role in offering therapy and social service support to patients and families confronted with mental health concerns, substance abuse issues, and stress-related somatic symptoms. They contribute to the prevention, identification, and management of these conditions. Supervised by professionals, they conduct assessments, develop treatment strategies, and schedule therapy sessions to assist individuals in overcoming behavioral health difficulties effectively.
Responsibilities:
Engages in psychosocial evaluations that delve into emotional, relational, and contextual aspects to improve understanding of a patient's medical situation.
Constructs and enacts interventions to assist individuals in returning to peak performance in their behavioral health.
Ensures familiarity with and fosters relationships with community health and social agencies to increase the behavioral health resources accessible to patients through working together or directing them appropriately.
Informs the patient and their family about the behavioral health treatment procedures and choices, with the goal of building confidence and fostering continued improvement after discharge.
Documents patient care activities and response to treatments in medical records with precision and timeliness to oversee the progression of recovery.
Defenders for patients in the process of receiving treatment to address ethical concerns or other potential hazards.
Uses their knowledge to examine the tasks of junior coworkers and give advice when it is needed.
Undertakes any other duties as instructed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- Masters or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 2 years of clinical experience
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
One or more of the following licensures: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) Supervisor, License Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS)
