Job Description
Overview:
The Pharmacist II Acute Care, as part of their duties, provides clinical assistance alongside the preparation and dispensing of medication to patients within the acute care facility. In this capacity, they are responsible for the upkeep of all aspects of the medication administration process, which includes:
The effectiveness and efficiency of administering medication, as well as evaluating the appropriateness of drug use, are key responsibilities in the field of pharmaceutical therapeutics and dispensing.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately adheres to physician instructions to ensure proper care is provided to the right individual.
- The task of checking and validating prescription entries, packaging and dispensing is conducted by a designated authority.
- Dispenses and oversees medication protocols, drug usage and relevant medical information to healthcare providers, patients, and the community.
- Oversees and assesses the performance of pharmacy technicians.
- Precepts students.
- Offers additional clinical services that may assist in enhancing patient care.
- Completes additional tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- Doctor of Pharmacy or BSPharm
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Registered Pharmacist in NC
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
