Overview:
This role involves supervising the designated cost centers and collaborating closely with senior management at each site. Responsibilities encompass overseeing Clinical Operations onsite, which involves guiding functional managers and the Sterile Processing Department. The primary focus is on ensuring that the Sterile Processing Department complies with various industry standards and facility regulations, such as those set by the Department of Health, CMS, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN.
Responsibilities:
Establish and uphold procedures, inventory, equipment, and training to meet the requirements for instrumentation and sterilization, surpassing customer, physician, and organizational quality expectations.
Supervises the efficiency and precision of crucial departmental information systems for the gathering and documentation of data related to Immediate Use Steam Sterilization, as well as instrument distribution, maintenance, losses, and substitutions.
Oversees employee interactions such as evaluating performance, conducting training, ensuring certification compliance, monitoring employee morale, and addressing conflicts. Offers instructions to department heads on company policies and procedures.
Analyzes quality indicators and efficiency metrics periodically, compiles financial plans for the department, including requests for funding equipment and guarantees that procedures are established for efficient control of departmental expenses, adherence to regulations, management of departmental agreements, and maintaining positive relationships with vendors to ensure financial stability.
Develop performance enhancement strategies annually for the sterile processing department, incorporating measurable indicators. Align these strategies with the organization's broader performance improvement goals to ensure consistency. Implement lean methodologies and a culture of ongoing enhancement to facilitate operational efficiency and process refinement
Establish and uphold strategic alliances throughout the organization to assist operations in fulfilling the needs of both internal and external clients. Guarantees that Sterile Processing is capable of aiding in infrastructure changes and expansion through a streamlined and productive approach.
Establishing and upholding protocols and training personnel based on the guidelines of regulatory entities such as CMS, AORN, AAMI, IAHCSMM, APIC, OSHA, and TJC.
