Overview:
The Cone Health Family Medicine Teaching Residency Program in Greensboro, NC, is recruiting a full-time Teaching Faculty Family Medicine physician.
The successful candidate will need to be a Family Medicine specialist who is board-eligible or certified in either Allopathic or Osteopathic medicine. The role entails delivering patient care in both inpatient and outpatient environments while also engaging in the instruction of residents and medical students. Proficiency in academic duties like developing curricula, evaluating performance, offering advice, and pursuing scholarly activities is a key requirement. While it is advantageous to have an interest in geriatric care, office procedures, and serving underprivileged populations, it is not a strict prerequisite. The compensation package and academic rank will be determined based on the candidate's level of experience.
Established in 1970, the Cone Health Family Medicine Residency (CHFMR) is one of the few Family Medicine residency programs nationally and is renowned for its excellence in preparing well-rounded residents for clinical practice. The program operates on an 8/8/8 model and boasts a strong connection with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Active involvement in the education of UNC medical students on site enhances the program's academic engagement. Additionally, the residency benefits from hosting a Sports Medicine Fellowship that holds national accreditation. An FM-OB Fellowship program is also affiliated with CHFMR. Cone Health System houses our faculty clinical practice and caters to a diverse patient group that consists of refugees, pediatric cases, and obstetric patients. The partnership with Risant Health has enhanced support infrastructure and broadened the range of available resources. The clinic is equipped with an on-site pharmacist, a behavioral health clinician, a social worker, a child development specialist, a coordinator for refugee care, and a prenatal navigator.
About the area. The Greensboro urban area is the 3rd largest in North Carolina with a population of 300,000 people and a regional population of approximately 1 million. Greensboro offers excellent schools along with numerous parks, multi-cultural and sporting events, including the Tanger Center for Performing Arts, and much more. This family-friendly city is also one of the most diverse mid-size cities in America. For weekend getaways, Greensboro is within easy driving distance to the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area, as well as the pristine beaches of NC, SC, and VA.
