Job Description
One of the main responsibilities of the IT Asset Analyst Lead is to supervise the organization's IT assets and ensure that they are being utilized to their maximum potential and providing value. This includes overseeing the tracking and management of both hardware and software inventory, managing their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with policies, and controlling costs related to these assets. The role also involves keeping a close eye on asset management policies and ensuring that assets are accurately recorded and maintained appropriately.
Essential Job Function:
- Asset Tracking: Keep a precise record of all hardware and software items, from the moment of procurement through deployment and eventual disposal.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to retirement, ensuring assets are effectively utilized and replaced as needed.
- Ensure that all IT assets conform to organizational rules, legal standards, and software license agreements.
- Supervising the cost of IT resources is essential for recognizing areas where expenses can be minimized and operations can be optimized.
- Policy Maintenance: Supervise the upkeep of IT asset management policies.
- Reporting: Tasked with preparing and sharing periodic assessments concerning the state, consumption, and effectiveness of assets with stakeholders.
- In Vendor Management, individuals may liaise with vendors and service providers to secure and manage IT assets.
- Provide staff with guidance and training sessions on the best practices for asset management.
- Team Leadership: Play a role in recruiting and overseeing employees, ensuring that HR tasks and performance appraisals are done on schedule to uphold a capable and inspired workforce.
- Executes any further responsibilities as instructed.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience
- Required: 4 years of experience in IT asset management or a related role
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Preferred: Relevant certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) are a plus.
