Job Description
Within the hospital environment, the LPN Hospital supports the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to ensure patients receive high-quality care. This entails working under direct supervision, assisting in the creation and implementation of hospital-based care strategies, and organizing equipment for procedures within the hospital network.
Essential Job Function:
- Supports the healthcare staff by acquiring patient medical information and history to facilitate thorough case documentation in hospital records.
- Assists in the formulation and implementation of care plans as directed by the Registered Nurse or healthcare professional to cater to the requirements of individuals receiving treatment at the hospital.
- Maintains sterile environments in accordance with Cone Health policies by following proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Delivers healthcare instructions to patients and families with the goal of articulating the care plan effectively.
- Supports in handling emergencies and safety threats by using personal protective equipment and hospital safety measures to prevent harm to patients.
- Completes supplementary assignments as instructed.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
Experience
- Required: None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
