Job Description
Overview:
The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse by monitoring and recording patient status and activities. This position involves helping patients with daily tasks and facilitating their movement under direct supervision to ensure their well-being.
Responsibilities:
Supports individuals in managing daily living activities like eating, grooming, and advancing mobility to support in their healing process and care plan.
Evaluates the well-being of patients concerning nutrition, hydration, and elimination to allocate resources effectively and prepare for patient requirements.
Facilitating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges ensures their transfer to the appropriate spots as directed by the care plan.
Assists in medical processes such as overseeing blood sugar levels, documenting crucial measurements, taking EKG readings, implementing restrictions, and addressing patients' elimination requirements to ensure their comfort.
Helping to manage unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment ensures a pristine and secure environment is maintained, meeting the criteria of the National Patient Safety Goals.
Verifies that patients at risk of falling are equipped with the correct identification bands, socks, and signs to maintain their physical safety.
Helps in recording all clinical procedures, patient communications, and medication usage to uphold a detailed patient dossier.
Responding quickly to assigned tasks from the nursing team and communicating any important patient findings to facilitate effective teamwork.
Acts on further responsibilities as instructed.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: None
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
