Overview:
The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse by monitoring and recording patient statuses. This position involves assisting patients with gradual movement and helping with daily activities as required under direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
Helps individuals with their daily activities such as eating, hygiene, and increasing movement to support in their healing process and treatment regimen.
Evaluates patient's overall well-being regarding nourishment, hydration, and waste elimination to allocate support and forecast patient requirements.
Facilitates the movement of patients to suitable destinations according to the care strategy by accepting, transferring, or releasing them.
Helps with medical processes, such as keeping an eye on blood sugar levels, documenting essential signs, conducting EKG tests, using restraints, and addressing excretion requirements to ensure patients receive attentive care.
Assists in monitoring unit stock of supplies and medical tools to uphold cleanliness and safety standards according to the National Patient Safety Goals.
Verifies that patients at risk of falling are provided with the correct wristbands, footwear, and signs to promote their physical security.
Helps in recording every clinical process, patient engagements, and drug administration to uphold an extensive patient record.
Responding quickly to assignments from the nursing team and communicating observations about patients to promote effective teamwork.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

Required:
Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
