Overview:
The Oncology Data Specialist is responsible for summarizing patient cancer diagnoses reported by physicians at Cone Health. This position assists in the growth of the cancer program, maintains adherence to data reporting regulations, and acts as a vital source of cancer-related knowledge to aid in cancer prevention and management.
Responsibilities:
Processes various medical information stored in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) by summarizing and organizing it according to approved data protocols, adhering to company policies.
Helps in verifying the thoroughness and precision of information gathered or recorded by doctors, medical facility employees, or physician office staff.
Evaluates benchmarking documents with guidance and collaborates with data stakeholders within the department, healthcare system, and providers to gain a deeper insight into the data and its gathering process.
Endorses the use of data collection tools such as Premier, Digital Innovation Registries, and other similar software from various providers.
Takes part in the advancement and execution of quality assurance measures.
Helps verify the eligibility of pending cases for reporting under close supervision.
Carries out additional responsibilities as required.
Preference is given to candidates with a solid background in EPIC and CRStar
