Job Description

The Physical Therapist II evaluates the conditions of patients, devises individualized treatment plans, and enacts therapeutic measures to enhance functional capabilities. The role involves the efficient treatment of all patients within their clinical environment and the completion of all tasks related to physical therapy with minimal supervision. Furthermore, the incumbent fosters communication among team members from various disciplines, confidently treats familiar patients, and advocates for both patients and the team. This position necessitates independent practice within the main setting and may require guidance in intricate situations, as well as encountering difficulties with transitioning to alternative settings.
Essential Job Function:
- Provides evaluation and care for complex patients with multiple medical conditions.
- Examines patients' physical capabilities, medical records, and functional restrictions to devise customized treatment plans.
- Implements therapeutic exercises and various interventions in physical therapy with the aim of improving patients' stamina, agility, and flexibility.
- Offers education to patients and their families about the treatment protocols, home workout routines, and strategies for self-care to enhance the results of rehabilitation.
- Participates in developing and executing discharge schemes and proposals for sustained care in collaboration with colleagues.
- Observes and chronicles the development of patients, treatment results, and reactions to interventions in order to make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Engages in collaboration with cross-functional teams to promote cohesive patient care and overall wellness objectives.
- Plays a role in guiding and instructing new staff, displaying a consistent effort to boost the competency and expertise of coworkers.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
