Job Description
Within the role of Physical Therapist II, the evaluation of patients status, creation of custom treatment strategies, and execution of therapeutic measures for maximizing functional capabilities are key responsibilities. The incumbent should be competent in administering care to all patients within their clinical sphere and executing all duties associated with physical therapy without extensive oversight. Promoting interactions among team members, delivering treatment to familiar patients with certainty, and advocating for the welfare of both patients and the team are significant aspects of this job. Independence is essential in the primary practice environment, and support or guidance may be necessary in complex situations or when navigating different settings may present challenges.
Essential Job Function:
- Provides evaluation and care for various diagnoses and intricate patient cases.
- Performs comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions, medical backgrounds, and constraints in order to devise personalized intervention strategies.
- Delivers therapeutic exercises and additional interventions in physical therapy aimed at enhancing patients' muscle strength, flexibility, and ability to move.
- Advises patients and their families on how to follow treatment plans, engage in exercises at home, and employ self-care strategies for better recovery.
- Collaborates with a team to develop and implement strategies for patient discharge and ongoing care options.
- Keeps track of patients' development, treatment effectiveness, and reactions to interventions in order to make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans.
- Working together with teams from diverse departments is crucial to ensure synchronized patient care and well-rounded treatment outcomes.
- Demonstrates a consistent effort to enhance the performance and expertise of team members through training and support.
- Carries out supplementary responsibilities as directed.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
