Job Description
The Nursing Technician Plus 3 assists the Registered Nurse by monitoring and recording patient conditions. Under close supervision, this role helps patients with mobility and daily activities as required. Applicants must have recent Emergency Department (ED) experience.
Essential Job Function
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, such as meals, personal hygiene, and mobility, to support their recovery and care plan.
- Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
- Admits, transfers, and discharges patients in order to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
- Assists patients with elimination care—such as ostomy management, enemas, and condom catheters—to promote comfort and dignity.
- Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Confirms that appropriate fall prevention measures—such as armbands, socks, and signs—are in place for at-risk patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 6 months of related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Nurse Aide Certification required.
