Job Description
In the position of a Radiologic Technologist Weekend Option, one's duties encompass conducting various diagnostic imaging tests to produce valuable insights for physicians in evaluating and treating patients. Operating under direct oversight, these professionals assist patients in getting prepared for scans, positioning them accurately, operating imaging equipment, and employing their skill set to reduce radiation levels during examinations. The weekend option entails adherence to WEO guidelines and fulfilling work obligations by completing two shifts within the specified timeframe while receiving additional compensation.
Essential Job Function:
- Adheres to the recommendations provided by doctors on the anatomical area to be scanned during imaging procedures.
- Engaging in discussions with the patient during the procedure assists in easing their anxiety and improving their grasp of the process.
- Ensures the patient is positioned accurately and calibrates the imaging machinery to the prescribed settings to produce high-quality visuals of targeted body regions.
- Reduces the likelihood of exposing oneself and the patient to excessive radiation.
- Incorporating accurate techniques and protocols, including patient shielding, is crucial in maintaining the integrity and precision of diagnostic imaging services.
- Prepares and files essential documentation for every procedure to guarantee accurate patient files and improve inter-professional communication in healthcare settings.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: ARRT (R); Radiologic Technologist - DxBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
