Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality patient care and ensures positive patient outcomes through the compassionate and efficient application of nursing knowledge. Working under general supervision, this role promotes professional nursing practice by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and multidisciplinary collaboration. Urogynecology, also referred to as Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS), is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology focused on the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of pelvic floor dysfunction in women. These disorders result from compromise of the pelvic floor musculature, connective tissue, and neural support, leading to dysfunction of the lower urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, and pelvic organs. Common conditions include stress and urge urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence, voiding dysfunction, and defecatory disorders. Treatment modalities encompass comprehensive conservative management including behavioral therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, and pharmacologic interventions as well as advanced reconstructive and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Essential Job Function:
- Reviews patient needs and health conditions to deliver nursing care in the assigned unit, ensuring that every patient receives the specific and necessary attention needed.
- Processes patient information, covering medical histories, test outcomes, and existing conditions, to create personalized nursing care blueprints.
- Designs nursing protocols like dispensing medications and interventions to ensure thorough and effective patient support.
- Confirms the precision and compliance of medical records through reconciliation with established regulations.
- Evaluating how patients react to interventions and pinpointing any additional measures needed to attain defined care objectives.
- Partners with a cross-functional care team to ensure coordinated care planning.
- Complete other duties as allocated.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in NursingPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered NursePreferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
