Job Description
Operated with oversight, the Congregational Nurse assists the wider community in addressing health and wellness gaps in a clinical setup. They work to enhance the health and wellness of both the congregation and the community through the provision of physical and spiritual care.
Essential Job Function
- Facilitates community individuals in locating a primary care physician to ensure they have access to healthcare.
- Helps members enhance their health and vitality by providing personalized health counseling services aimed at establishing tailored care programs.
- Acknowledges health gaps, encompassing transportation, housing, and nutrition disparities, as part of efforts to alleviate barriers preventing individuals from enhancing their personal health.
- Increasing knowledge and awareness among members involves teaching them about disease prevention and management, medications, and how the health system operates.
- Coordinate health check-ups and health education workshops, in addition to flu shot campaigns, to enhance public health and prevent illnesses within the community.
- Carries out assessments and screenings like checking blood pressure and monitoring blood glucose levels to pinpoint potential health concerns for management.
- Provides support for overall well-being by offering spiritual care through prayer and attentive listening.
- Executes any other responsibilities given.
Education
- Required: Associates Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 5 years of clinical experience in a health care setting
Preferred:
- Bilingual: Spanish
- Occasional weekends and evenings
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
