Job Description
Under general supervision, the Congregational Nurse plays a pivotal role in addressing health and wellness disparities within the clinic environment to benefit the broader community. This position is focused on promoting health and well-being for congregations and the community at large by providing avenues for physical and spiritual care. An understanding of faith-based or church ministry can be beneficial in fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.
Essential Job Function
- Supports community members in identifying a primary care giver to establish a link for healthcare services.
- Offering support to individuals in enhancing their health and vitality by engaging in personalized health counseling sessions to establish customized treatment plans.
- Recognizes health gaps, such as access to transportation, housing conditions, and nutritional resources, in order to tackle challenges that impede individuals from enhancing their personal health.
- The primary goal is to raise awareness and knowledge among participants regarding disease prevention and management, medications, and the healthcare system.
- Coordinate events like health screenings and flu clinics to aid in lowering sickness rates within the community.
- Conducts assessments and screenings, which may include monitoring blood pressure and blood glucose levels, to pinpoint potential health concerns that require treatment.
- Delivers support for a comprehensive lifestyle through spiritual care, involving prayer and active listening.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education
- Required: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 5 years of clinical experience in a health care setting
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
