Our Kidney Dialysis Unit (KDU) at Annie Penn Hospital consists of 2-bay and is primarily dedicated to caring for individuals with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI).

The role of a Registered Nurse RN Dialysis Staff entails delivering specialized nursing services to individuals receiving dialysis therapy. Working within a dialysis facility, this position involves cooperating with medical professionals to administer thorough care, supervise patients throughout treatments, and guarantee compliance with dialysis guidelines to promote patient health.

Responsibilities:

Observes and evaluates patient's essential signs and general well-being throughout dialysis appointments to guarantee a secure and efficient therapy.

Provides patients undergoing dialysis with prescribed medications and treatments, such as administering heparin and managing fluid levels.

Maintains and operates dialysis machinery to guarantee it is functioning correctly and sanitized before every session.

Works together with multidisciplinary groups to create and execute all-encompassing treatment strategies customized to individual patients' requirements.

Informs individuals and their loved ones on the procedures of dialysis, self-management methods, and dietary guidelines to enhance results and well-being.

Carries out additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 2 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED

Required:

Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
