Job Description
Overview:
With the collaboration of directors and administration, the qualified RN House Supervisor provides continuous oversight of hospital operations to ensure compliance with health system policies and regulatory guidelines. This position entails coordinating quality patient care, frequently serving as the leader during off-hours and weekends to manage patient needs, streamline hospital operations, and optimize staffing arrangements.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with department heads on nursing service coordination to establish ample staffing relative to patient volumes and necessities; assesses staffing and resources to ascertain the most effective allocation of personnel based on their skill set and professional history.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team in deciding the appropriate placement for patients.
- Engages with departmental charge nurses, providers, and other departments to enhance the efficiency of patient throughput.
- Helps with the triage process and admission prioritization to ensure smooth patient progression as needed.
- Acknowledges campus emergency signals, executes assigned responsibilities, and supports patient transitions if called for.
- Collaborates with colleagues, patients, and patient advocates on matters of ethical uncertainties, fresh protocols, and procedures regarding chain of command.
- Offers guidance to hospital personnel, doctors, and outside agencies on operational challenges.
- Carries out any other assigned obligations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor of Science in NursingPreferred: Master?s degree in nursing or similar field
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 or more years as a Registered Nurse required. Preferred: Acute care setting. Previous leadership and/or critical care experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:RN- Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or Compact state.BLS ACLS (Not applicable for the Behavioral Health Service Line)Notary public certification in the State of North Carolina (must be completed within six months of hire)
