Overview:
The role of the Pulmonary Critical Care Physician involves delivering outstanding healthcare services to patients under the Cone Health system, encompassing various care settings like inpatient, outpatient, or hybrid scenarios, whether in a full-time, part-time, or relief capacity, while also ensuring the completion of all clinical tasks required.
Responsibilities:
The role involves administering pulmonary critical care medicine to patients in hospital or outpatient environments. Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams in designated areas to enhance patient care. Educating Cone Health residents and other students on medical practices. Contributing to the advancement of medical research within the professional setting. Utilizing independent judgment in diagnosing and treating patients, developing treatment plans, and directing advanced practice providers in accomplishing patient care objectives.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, with eligibility extended to current fellows or individuals within five years of completing training. A valid and unrestricted medical license in North Carolina, an unencumbered Drug Enforcement Administration license for the state, and the acquisition of medical staff privileges at Cone Health are all necessary qualifications.

Consists of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine Physicians associated with Cone Health, a major hospital network. They were the first in North Carolina to implement continuous physician supervision in ICUs with the use of telemedicine.
