Job Description
In this role, the Triage Specialist evaluates individuals with psychiatric or substance abuse problems, providing assessment services that may include consultations and referrals. Patients from various age groups, such as adults, the elderly, and children, are catered to by this position. The main focus is on determining the specific needs of each patient and the level of severity of their condition to decide on the appropriate course of action in terms of rehabilitation services.
Essential Job Function:
- Conducts timely assessments of individuals displaying behavioral issues to proactively identify any complications related to their condition, highlighting concerns to the suitable authorities to prevent harmful treatments.
- Evaluates the patient's behavioral health to decide on the appropriate level of care required.
- Works closely with physicians to evaluate patients with psychiatric or substance abuse issues and reach informed decisions regarding their care and treatment plans.
- Patient engagements and conversations are documented and archived to aid healthcare providers in making optimal choices or for potential consultation.
- Demonstrates proficient communication skills with both patients and healthcare staff to cultivate a sense of trust and rapport essential for accurate information sharing.
- Executes any other responsibilities given.
Education
- Required: Master's in Counseling or a related field
Experience
- Required: 1 year experience in Healthcare (Psychiatry preferred)
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:North Carolina provisional license in one of the following: LCMHC Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or licensed psychologist.
- Individuals must possess a North Carolina provisional license in fields like LCMHC, LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LCAS, or psychology.
