Job Description
The expertise of the Remote Cardiac MRI Specialist lies in conducting cardiac MRI scans from a remote location to ensure the quality of images and the safety of patients. This specialist should have a strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and diseases, proficiency in using MRI technology, and the ability to work collaboratively with technologists, cardiologists, and radiologists virtually. Additionally, within the scope of their role, the Remote Cardiac MRI Specialist is expected to serve as a subject matter expert in MRI Cardiovascular Imaging across Cone Health.
Essential Job Function
- Utilize remote operation of MRI systems to capture precise images of the heart.
- Provide instructions to on-site technologists or assistants on how to position patients correctly and carry out procedures according to established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with cardiac MRI guidelines, which include conducting examinations for cardiac function evaluation, tissue viability assessment, stress perfusion imaging, and magnetic resonance angiography procedures.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of individuals undergoing scanning sessions conducted remotely.
- Coordinate with cardiac doctors and radiology professionals to verify the accuracy of diagnoses.
- Assess the resolution and overall quality of images, troubleshoot any distortions, and advise on re-scanning if required.
- High-level competence in processing cardiac MRI data following collection.
- Ensure that detailed documentation and imaging logs are maintained accurately in EMR systems.
- Remain informed about the latest advances in cardiac MRI techniques to stimulate innovation for broadening CMR workflows and operations.
- Carries out any other responsibilities given.
Education
- Required: Associate or bachelor s degree in radiologic technology or related field.
Experience
- Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in cardiac MRI imaging.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: ARRT or AMRIT certification in MRI
