Job Description
The Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role in a clinic involves providing nursing support and assisting in evaluating patient needs. With supervision, responsibilities include documenting patient information, processing recommendations, and handling administrative duties to contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.
Essential Job Function:
- Supports healthcare professionals in providing patient services by setting up exam rooms, recording essential statistics, documenting patient histories, and updating medical files.
- Examines suggestions from healthcare providers, like medication prescriptions, specialist referrals, and diagnostic tests, to ensure they are accurate and promptly carried out.
- Assists patients by educating and supporting them through the explanation of treatment plans, medication details, and instructions for post-treatment care, addressing any queries or uncertainties.
- Duties consist of managing appointment schedules, maintaining patient documentation, overseeing medical supplies, and aiding in insurance claims and billing tasks.
- Assisting medical staff during patient appointments and clinic visits by offering vital patient history details to improve the quality of care provided.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and Diploma Practical Nursing.
Experience:
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure, successfully pass NC Nursing Boards for LPN and maintain a current and continuous unrestricted LPN License, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
