Overview:
The primary duty of the Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead is to examine various human samples like blood, tissue, and bodily fluids to identify chemical composition, cell quantities, medication concentrations, blood groups, and the existence of pathogens. Their responsibilities include employing advanced machinery and custom tools to process samples and conduct numerous intricate examinations that offer crucial insights into various illnesses. Additionally, this position involves mentoring new staff members by providing training, facilitating their integration into the team, and addressing any inquiries they may have.
Responsibilities:
Ensures precise and prompt examination of samples through a variety of laboratory methods to guarantee correct specimen identification with accurate documentation.
Conducts examinations on laboratory samples in adherence to approved laboratory protocols, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical stages.
Works together with lab leadership to create and revise standard operating protocols for specimen processing to uphold top practices and drive ongoing enhancements.
Monitors and resolves equipment and testing process problems efficiently to reduce disruptions and uphold consistent laboratory functionality.
Assisting in the training and orientation of new technicians to help them seamlessly become part of the team and maintaining regular assessments to guarantee the maintenance of elevated levels of performance.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
