The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality patient care and ensures positive patient outcomes through the compassionate and efficient application of nursing knowledge. Working under general supervision, this role promotes professional nursing practice by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Essential Job Function:

• Evaluates, plans, executes, documents, organizes, prioritizes, distributes tasks, supervises, and aligns the care of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age ranges as instructed within the NC Nurse Practice Act guidelines.
• Provides nursing aid through the nursing approach for developing, executing, and evaluating nursing care. Gathers and scrutinizes patient and significant other information.
• Constructs and updates an admission database while engaging in continuous assessments with the involvement of patients, key individuals, and other healthcare providers.
• Develops and implements patient care plans with consideration for age-specific requirements, adapting them to meet the needs of patients and their significant others while utilizing clinical pathways.
• Recognizes variances and adjusts the plan of care by evaluating its effectiveness and nursing interventions.
• Documents and revises the plan of care, nursing interventions, patient's response to care, and provides regular updates to the healthcare team, patients, and key individuals.
• Contributes to the discharge plan by recognizing the necessary homecare needs. Identifies changes in patients' conditions and revises the care plan accordingly.
• Illustrates advanced proficiencies and sharp critical thinking skills in their daily duties. Recognizes and satisfies the educational requirements of patients and their significant others.
• Creates supportive and therapeutic interactions between healthcare teams and patients as well as their loved ones.
• Recognizes communication challenges, identifies available assistance, and devises strategies for addressing barriers to effective communication.
• Demonstrates reverence for diversity and cultural differences in patients/significant others associated with age, ethnicity, gender, religion, socioeconomics, education, personality, or other distinct aspects.
• Create personalized approaches to cater to specific needs associated with diversity, cultural distinctions, or other particular elements. Stands for the patient or their important individual.

Education

• Required: Associate's Degree in NursingPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Required: 1 year as a Registered NursePreferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations

Licensure/Certification/Listing

• Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
