Overview:
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist II operates autonomously to deliver hands-on patient care in the cardiac catheterization environment and assists in maintaining equipment and hygiene standards for procedures. Working closely with the healthcare team, this role contributes to delivering high-level patient care during cardiac catheterization procedures with a focus on accuracy and compliance with established guidelines to promote favorable patient results.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates intricate patient's past medical records and present status in readiness for cardiac catheterization interventions.
Utilizes specific machinery and supervises individuals throughout treatments to guarantee secure conditions and favorable results.
Ensures a secure setting, follows standard safety measures, and employs protective gear to reduce hazards and safeguard the health of individuals in their care.
Works in partnership with the medical team, comprising doctors and specialists, to ensure the efficient execution of procedures.
Offers guidance and assistance to patients prior to, during, and following cardiac catheterization lab treatments.
Complies with the prerequisites of a professional development program, participates in continuous learning, and guides colleagues to encourage professional advancement and growth, ensuring alignment with current industry advancements for enhanced patient care and expertise in clinical practice.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Radiology Technologist - Unencumbered ASRT Radiology Technologist licensure, or Respiratory Therapist - Unencumbered North Carolina Respiratory Care Board Licensure
-OR-
Cardiovascular Technology Program - Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Program
-OR-
Paramedic - Unencumbered North Carolina EMT-P credentialing/accreditation and/or Paramedic
Associate Degree from a credentialed and qualified Paramedic program
Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS or RCES) if not obtain certification within 24 months of hire in the cath lab (is required for continued employment in the Cath Lab).
Graduates from a Cardiovascular Program are required to complete RCIS certification within 3 months of employment.
American Heart Association Health Care Provider course (BLS) preferred or should be completed within 6 months of hire.
