Job Description
The Clinic Behavioral Health Therapist conducts therapy sessions and provides social assistance to patients and families confronting mental health issues, substance abuse disorders, challenging life events, and physical symptoms resulting from stress. This role contributes to the proactive identification, assessment, and resolution of these difficulties. Operating within established guidelines, the therapist undertakes psychosocial evaluations, devises and executes personalized treatment plans, and coordinates therapeutic encounters in support of the rehabilitation journey of individuals facing behavioral health struggles.
Essential Job Function
- Undertakes psychosocial evaluations to enhance the understanding of a patient's diagnosis, ailment, or therapy by scrutinizing emotional, social, and environmental elements.
- Designs and puts into action treatment programs focused on behavioral health to assist individuals in achieving their best state.
- Retains awareness of community health and social entities to increase the behavioral health services accessible to patients via cooperation or direction.
- Instructs the patient and their family on the processes and possibilities for behavioral health treatment to foster confidence and maintain progress following discharge.
- Maintains timely and precise documentation in medical records to monitor patient recovery stages.
- Acts as a representative for patients in ensuring ethical considerations are upheld and risks are managed during treatment.
- Utilizes their knowledge to review the tasks of junior peers and offer support whenever needed.
- Undertakes any other duties as directed.
Education
- Required: Masters or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
Experience
- Required: 2 years of clinical experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: One or more of the following licensures: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) Supervisor, License Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS)
