The Massage Therapist administers therapeutic massages to clients with the aim of enhancing blood flow, inducing a state of calm, and alleviating tension, discomfort, and physical trauma. With oversight and guidance, this position involves addressing patients' needs through the application of pressure to maneuver the soft tissues and joints of the body.
Responsibilities:
Massages involve manipulating soft tissues to alleviate pain and address issues related to injuries, overall health, or medical ailments.
Using the hands and fingers to exert force on particular areas of the body, aiming to alleviate muscle tightness and address accompanying symptoms.
Addresses patient's worries, medical backgrounds, and particular areas of tension or discomfort in order to tailor the massage therapy session for optimal results.
Tailors custom treatment regimens for each patient, detailing the specific types of massages, targeted areas for treatment, and recommended frequency of sessions.
Sends patients to other specialists and therapists if needed to address further symptoms.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
