Overview:
In the role of a Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead, individuals are responsible for investigating human samples, such as blood, tissue, and bodily fluids, to determine their chemical makeup, cell levels, drug amounts, blood characteristics, and the existence of microorganisms. Their duties involve using state-of-the-art equipment and specialized tools for sample preparation and the execution of numerous sophisticated tests that furnish essential data on ailments. Furthermore, they play a key role in instructing less seasoned colleagues through training sessions, facilitating their transition into the team, and addressing any concerns they might have.
Responsibilities:
Ensures the accurate and timely analysis of samples utilizing a range of laboratory techniques to confirm the correct identification of specimens and maintain accurate records.
Executes tests on laboratory specimens based on established laboratory regulations and processes covering pre-experimentation, experimentation, and post-experimentation phases.
Collaborates with laboratory leadership to establish and refine standard operational methods in order to ensure conformity with best practices and consistent advancement in specimen processing.
Maintains vigilance over equipment and testing protocols, swiftly resolving technical challenges to minimize disruptions and ensure consistent laboratory performance.
Assisting in the education and induction of new technologists to help them seamlessly join the team and guaranteeing uniform capability assessments to maintain elevated performance expectations.
Executes any other responsibilities as designated.
