Essential Job Function:
- Undertakes in-office physical exams on patients, assesses their medical background, and interprets the outcomes of diagnostic examinations to offer suitable treatment options tailored to the patient's needs.
- Carries out proactive health assessments focusing on the patient's age, medical history, and distinctive health concerns to promote preventive care.
- Offers guidance to patients and their loved ones on the specifics of specialty medical conditions, treatment procedures, and ongoing supervision.
- Ensures that accurate patient histories are recorded consistently by documenting all aspects of patient care efficiently.
- Administers office-based specialty medical treatments following the guidelines and scope of practice outlined by the department.
- Improving outpatient specialty care entails evaluating and addressing clinical and system-related issues through problem-solving methods.
- Carries out any other tasks as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Master's degree Nursing or Master's Degree Physician Assistant studies. Physician Assistant employed at Cone Health prior to October 14, 2024 with a Bachelor's Degree will have the Master's Degree requirement waived provided they have maintained employment and PA licensure with Board Certification.
Experience:
- Required: None
- Preferred: 3+ years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Valid NC RN and Nurse Midwife or NP license OR NC PA license Board Certified within 1 year of date of hire by either the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PA's OR the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Certification Corporation (NCC) for NP's OR the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Certification required for Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers IVC Certified within 90 days of employment for Behavioral Health Advance Practice Provider. Must possess and maintain a current, unrestricted DEA registration in accordance with federal and state regulations.
