Overview:
Come join our dynamic team at Cone Health Pediatric Rehab in Burlington! Our team has two PT's, two other OT's and three SLP's. The patient caseload offers a variety of diagnoses including sensory processing disorder, lack of coordination and fine motor skills, developmental delays, difficulty with ADL's, autism, hyperactivity, etc. We treat our patients one-on-one for 45 minute sessions. Experience in this setting is preferred.
An Occupational Therapist II evaluates patient's health conditions and implements rehabilitation programs to facilitate a return to optimal functioning, relieved pain, improved mobility, and prevention or reduction of deformities caused by injuries or illnesses. They can successfully treat all patients in their clinical settings and function autonomously to complete all occupational therapy job tasks. Excellent communication skills with inter-disciplinary teams, advocating for patients and their teams, and treating familiar patients with confidence are crucial. However, mentoring, guidance, and cross-coverage to different settings may pose challenges.
Responsibilities:
Offers a range of diagnosis and treatment options to patients with multifaceted health issues.
Conducts thorough evaluations of patient's health history, physical condition, and functional constraints to create individualized treatment strategies.
Engages patients in a series of physical activities aimed at improving their physical capabilities with occupational therapy.
Offers counseling to patients and their caregivers on how to implement treatment plans, execute prescribed exercises at home, and adopt self-management methods aimed at accelerating recovery.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive and effective discharge plan that accounts for all aspects of a patient's care.
Monitors and keeps track of the advancement of patients, analyzing the outcomes of their treatments, and evaluating their feedback to interventions. This permits adjustments to be made to the treatment plans as necessary.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams from different departments to guarantee integrated patient care and all-inclusive treatment results.
Executes any other duties that may be necessary or assigned.
