Job Description
Overview:
In the role of the Radiologic Computed Tomography Technologist, the primary duty is to maintain a high standard of patient care during CT procedures and imaging examinations through the use of established workflows and procedural guidelines. Operating state-of-the-art computerized x-ray equipment, this professional produces cross-sectional images of the body that play a key role in helping radiologists detect diverse diseases and disorders accurately. With direct oversight, the technologist supports diagnostic processes and patient well-being throughout imaging sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Executes routine and specialized CT and diagnostic tests following established protocols to minimize the requirement for extra imaging and control radiation exposure, while also upholding exam efficiency within defined parameters.
- Observes and acts upon instructions provided by doctors regarding the site for imaging on the patient's body.
- Assists the patient by walking them through the details of the procedure and responding to any queries they may have to reduce their stress and enhance their awareness of the procedure.
- Correctly places the patient and fine-tunes the imaging machinery to generate precise images of certain body parts.
- Reviews patient medical histories to determine the correct imaging settings needed for accurate results.
- Operates and cares for cutting-edge CT technology, following safety protocols and conducting frequent maintenance evaluations to ensure precise imaging outcomes.
- Verification of charges and rectification of any discrepancies in Computerized Health Information and Picture Archiving and Communication System entries is crucial in ensuring the efficient flow of operations related to CT scans.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
EXPERIENCE:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
