Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides excellent patient care and guarantees positive patient outcomes by utilizing nursing expertise with compassion and effectiveness. Operating under general supervision, this position promotes professional nursing practice by organizing patient care through the nursing process and collaborative efforts across various disciplines.
Essential Job Function:
- Evaluates patient needs and health conditions in the assigned unit to provide nursing care that is individualized and caters to the specific requirements of each patient.
- Examines patient information, including medical backgrounds, diagnostic outcomes, and present state, to develop specific nursing care plans.
- Implements nursing practices, such as medication administration and therapies, to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and impactful patient care.
- Validates medical records accuracy to meet regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Examines patient responses to interventions and identifies any additional interventions required to meet specified care goals.
- Works collectively with an interdisciplinary care team to optimize the planning of patient care.
- Undertakes supplementary responsibilities as designated.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse.
- Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
