Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality patient care and ensures positive patient outcomes through the compassionate and efficient application of nursing knowledge. Working under general supervision, this role promotes professional nursing practice by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and multidisciplinary collaboration. Urogynecology, also referred to as Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS), is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology focused on the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of pelvic floor dysfunction in women. These disorders result from compromise of the pelvic floor musculature, connective tissue, and neural support, leading to dysfunction of the lower urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, and pelvic organs. Common conditions include stress and urge urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence, voiding dysfunction, and defecatory disorders. Treatment modalities encompass comprehensive conservative management including behavioral therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, and pharmacologic interventions as well as advanced reconstructive and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Essential Job Function:
- Evaluates patient needs and health conditions in the designated unit to offer nursing assistance, ensuring that each patient receives personalized and adequate care.
- Analyses patient data, such as health backgrounds, diagnostic results, and current statuses, to devise individualized nursing care plans.
- Plans nursing procedures such as medication administration and therapies to provide comprehensive and efficient patient care.
- Harmonizes medical records with regulatory standards and organizational policies to ensure correctness.
- Assessing patient reactions to treatments and determining additional interventions necessary to fulfill established care goals.
- Collaborates with professionals from different disciplines to enhance care planning effectiveness.
- Handle additional tasks as designated.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in NursingPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered NursePreferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
