Overview:
The role of a Speech Language Pathologist I is to evaluate and provide treatment to individuals suffering from a wide variety of disorders that affect their speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing, and cognitive abilities. They use evidence-based procedures to develop individualized care plans, including educating patients and their families and applying appropriate interventions to improve their functional capacity.

Responsibilities:
Assists facilitates thorough assessments of individuals experiencing difficulties with linguistics, speech, cognition, and deglutition to evaluate their capability to communicate and swallow.
Evaluation results, clients' objectives, and unique requirements are utilized to create and execute individualized care strategies based on scientifically verified data.
Patients and their loved ones receive guidance on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-care practices that enhance healing results.
Keeps track of patients' advancements, the impact of treatments and their reactions to any intervention aiding to adjust the course of treatment, if required.
Works alongside colleagues to develop and execute discharge plans, necessitating some supervision from fellow staff members.
Communicates updates and present condition to relevant personnel, such as healthcare providers or loved ones.
Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or is eligible to receive it through a Clinical Fellowship Year.
Licensed by the North Carolina Board for Speech Pathologists and Audiologists during their Supervised Experience Year.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
