Job Description
Overview:
This position is responsible for providing guidance and leadership to specific areas within the Heart Center and Vascular Institute. These areas include the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Cath Holding Room, and Peripheral Vascular Lab. The role involves both clinical and operational aspects with daily supervision of the labs.
Responsibilities:
Foster an environment of regulatory and compliance excellence by implementing and monitoring various quality performance measures, while keeping a close eye on reports from internal committees and external regulatory agencies such as The Joint Commission.
Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to create budgets and annual goals. Monitor departmental performance standards to ensure alignment with performance objectives. Operate daily activities in strict adherence with budgetary constraints, such as staffing, inventory management, resource utilization, and billing policies.
Collaborate with different teams and leadership to ensure that the organization is delivering excellent, safe, and patient-centered care. Provide clinical knowledge and expertise to assist others.
Direct the management of clinical programs in Invasive CV Labs and ensure the competence of staff and the achievement of quality outcomes.
Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department by monitoring patient throughput and anticipating and resolving any issues that may arise.
Foster ongoing dialogue with patients, their families, physicians, and staff members to ensure satisfaction with all operations within the department.
In order to maximise the potential of Invasive Cardiovascular Service Line operations, it is essential for physicians and hospitals to work together and foster a culture of collaboration.
Provides useful assistance to departmental and organizational leaders by offering feedback and input related to daily operations and the performance of staff and physicians.
Serve as a clinical and technical support system for healthcare providers and staff, conducting annual competency evaluations and delivering necessary education and guidance.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required:
This position necessitates candidates to have a high-school diploma or an equivalent certificate, a bachelor's degree in nursing or allied health professions. Failure to obtain any of these qualifications within four years of being offered this position can lead to termination.
The applicant must have completed a certified program in Nursing, Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Cardiovascular Technology in order to be eligible for this position.
Allied Health graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities, including hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers.
Graduate from a qualified
The recognized Health Science program that is authorized to provide education in the field.
The Cath Lab only employs individuals with an RCIS certification or those who obtain it within two years of being hired.
An accredited Paramedic Program that has the necessary credentials.
Preferred:
The Cath lab expects the employees to acquire an RCIS certification within two years of employment in order to continue working there.
Completing the RCIS certification within three months of appointment is a requirement for all new hires who finished the Cardiovascular Program.
The allied health sector and RN profession require an educational background of a bachelor's degree.
An accredited Health Science program is the basic requirement for employment in this role, with candidates lacking a bachelor's degree needing to obtain one within 4 years to continue employment.
It is necessary to have a clinical Master's degree or the ambition to acquire one.
The completion of the ACLS certification within six months of hire is a requirement for all healthcare professionals associated with the American Heart Association.
EXPERIENCE:Required
For this position, applicants must have experience in interventional cardiovascular or peripheral vascular care for at least three years and have exhibited leadership skills.
For this role, candidates must have either a nursing, radiology technology, respiratory therapy or cardiovascular technology qualification. Those with an RCIS credential or experience in allied health are also eligible.
Preferred:
The successful candidate for this position will have at least two years of hands-on experience in interventional procedures for either cardiovascular or peripheral vascular medicine, and will possess a proven ability to lead and motivate others.
A minimum of five years of experience in cardiac healthcare is being sought and applicants with more experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Must hold one of the following: Graduate from one or more of the following programs required:
Nursing, Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or a sanctioned Cardiovascular Technology Program (this requirement may be waived for individuals hired into and currently working in Cone Health?s Cardiac Cath Lab prior to this being a hiring requirement in 2008.If waived, must have a High School Diploma or equivalent).
Credentialed as Paramedic in NC.
Preferred:
Allied Health Degree or RN.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Valid driver's license.
ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.
