Overview:
Undertaking duties under supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Certified Acute Care Pharmacy Technician II carries out a range of activities, including but not limited to the creation of aseptic compound prescriptions necessary to distribute IV compounding prescriptions and/or updating patient medication histories. The role also involves duties such as the procurement, dispersal, and delivery of non-controlled and controlled medications to enhance patient safety and care quality.
Responsibilities:
Carries out diverse responsibilities, including the compounding of IV medications which may be hazardous or non-hazardous, verifying them for correctness, administering, distributing, and disposing of medications in accordance with the most up-to-date protocols while being supervised by a licensed pharmacist and/or speaking with patients in order to obtain an exhaustive and accurate medical history in line with organizational guidelines.
Utilizes electronic medical records to retrieve significant details essential in supporting pharmacy activities.
Utilizing advanced automation and technology, the pharmacy assists in the preparation of medications.
Performs activities related to medication regulatory and compliance.
Communicates efficiently with colleagues in the healthcare industry and provides exceptional customer service to all patients.
Conducts guidance and orientation sessions for newly recruited staff.
Performs any other duties as deemed necessary or allocated.

Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
