Job Description
In clinical research settings, Research Nurses engage with study subjects and research team members, contributing throughout different phases of the research project. They execute patient-focused tasks and assessments according to their licensure. Their duties are primarily regular and task-driven, supporting the broader aims of the clinical research trial and operations. Clinical Research Nurses do not have managerial obligations and receive immediate supervision.
Essential Job Function:
- Examines patient records, medical backgrounds, and ongoing treatment plans to appropriately recruit and engage potential research candidates who are actively participating in the informed consent procedure.
- Supports compliance with regulations for research projects in hospital/medical group settings through the submission of study protocols, consent forms, and recruitment materials to the relevant regulatory bodies for approval, assisting in the facilitation of the necessary steps for project initiation.
- Aiding in the coordination of activities across several ongoing clinical trials, overseeing diverse research responsibilities effectively, and ensuring the efficient execution of research protocols within specified deadlines.
- Manages pharmaceutical and device trials as a study coordinator, overseeing site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and close-out visits to guarantee adherence to protocol regulations and regulatory obligations.
- Works closely with healthcare teams, providers, external research partners, and patients to guarantee effective communication and consistent care delivery to patients.
- Aids in the collection and examination of data pertaining to clinical studies to verify its accuracy and trustworthiness.
- Aids in managing documentation of patient engagements and clinical research activities to guarantee coherent and synchronized healthcare, while assisting the Investigator in evaluating and addressing Adverse Events.
- Performs clinical duties permitted by the nursing license to fulfill immediate patient needs appropriately.
- Acts as the point person for patient care, following the guidance of the Investigator and adhering to the protocols outlined in the clinical trial.
- Required to attend investigator gatherings and seminars.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
Experience
Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
Required: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
