Overview:
The Support Rep II collaborates with doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers to handle administrative tasks within a medical setting. Operating with limited oversight, this position involves tasks such as gathering registration and financial information, enrolling patients, arranging appointments, understanding fee details, receiving payments from patients during visits, managing medical records, and fulfilling miscellaneous office responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities:
Arranges external appointments for patients and facilitates collaboration with healthcare professionals for referrals.
Facilitates pre-approval for tests with specified insurance providers; calculates patient responsibilities such as co-payments and deductibles using insurance information.
Keeps track of patient details such as insurance coverage, lab outcomes, health background, and doctor recommendations.
Organizes, gathers, and upkeeps patient documents and files; submits records to external offices upon request through fax or filing.
Gathers incoming facsimiles from insurance providers, laboratory findings, drugstores, and medical discussions with doctors.
Supports credentialing procedures by reviewing and managing applications to fulfill insurance and facility standards.
Carries out additional tasks as necessary or instructed.
