Job Description
The internship opening is a time-sensitive commitment that starts with an orientation session scheduled for September 7th, 2026, allowing interns to dedicate a maximum of 250 hours toward valuable professional development. Cone Health's Accounts Payable Internship presents a hands-on learning opportunity in the realm of accounting by actively participating in the Accounts Payable team's operations. Participants will engage in meaningful tasks like processing invoices, overseeing payment procedures, and contributing to system enhancements after the integration of Workday. Interns will collaborate closely with experienced professionals to understand the intricacies of financial transactions within a large healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and condense incoming mail content to assist in the migration from hard copies to electronic filing, enhancing organizational efficiency.
- Provide assistance for projects aimed at boosting AP productivity following the transition to Workday.
- Involves the entering, verification, and management of invoices to secure timely and precise payments.
- Provide support for the ACH promotion project that aims to enhance outreach efforts to Cone Health suppliers for the increased utilization of ACH payments.
Education:
- Required: Must be in process of a college-level degree in a related field and a student in good standing.
- Junior or Senior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Experience:
- Strong interest in healthcare, nonprofit operations, business, or process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work respectfully across cultures and align with Cone Health values.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to organize information clearly and logically.
